Is Beckham staying put in Milan? Should we ask this question to David Beckham himself, he would most probably would say a yes to that question. Why? At an old ripe age of 33 years old, finishing his career at AC Milan would surely be a fitting end to the illustrious chapter in his football career. It is almost like a perfect ending to a great story of this famous "golden ball" of England.
He already had it all. Beckham has been the captain of England, scoring those crucial goals for England that worthy of a theater. Had a major sport brand (adidas) that dedicated for his trade mark free kick style. He married a famous pop star. He's been the sex symbol of British man. All stuff of dreams.
He's been from Manchester to Madrid, then to Los Angeles, and now in Milan, what a journey. Really, those are feat that many other soccer players would not even dare to dream. Along those journeys he collected medals and honors of the highest level in club football. From pursuing Premier League titles to Champions League, La Liga and now hunting the scudetto of Serie A.
Now, let's check the reality. Beckham only loaned to Milan by Los Angeles Galaxy and he must answer his club at United States who paid him handsomely with a lucrative contract that Beckham is bound to honor.
With his MSL club in Los Angeles vehemently insisting that Beckham would be back to United States, his fate now depend on how strong the determination of AC Milan club want to retain him.
Beckham has contributed massively since arriving in Milan. Without any problem at all he blended well into Milan midfield powerhouse. Fans also love him very much. Alas, age or rather, time, is not in Beckham side. He is really fit now, but for how long? Is it really worth for Milan to seal the deal?
AC Milan would really love to retain Beckham, but there is no urgency in Milan side to really buy Beckham at this stage. Milan hoards plenty of midfielder that is of good standard or on par with Beckham, if not better. The currently injured Gatusso is though not really as skilled as Beckham, but his reliability to deter off any challenges in midfield is legendary. With Pirlo that can bend as beauty as Beckham, an architect in Kaka and the still superb Ronaldinho, that really work well before this and should be no problem at all to soldier on with or without Beckham.
So, no matter how strong or how much Beckham would like to stay in Milan, his MSL club in USA is not really like to be treated lowly. Without a really massive amount of payment, the deal would not go on as Beckham or his fans would like to be.
And Beckham can plan to settle and end his remarkably illustrious career with a low tone in United States of America.
