Tips for managing the dreaded eating alone experience

Make eating out alone an adventure and you'll never dread it again!

Thousands of people eat out alone everyday. Often this is due to traveling out of town on business, but they still have to eat out alone. I'm one of those people that have to eat out alone due to business travel and try to make each time an adventure.

To make eating out alone an adventure, do some reasearch to find out what restaurants in the area are good places to people watch. If you're single, find restaurants that known for being a singles hangout. A good place to find this type of information is CitySearch.com.

When eating out alone, eat at the bar. This will give you a chance to sit next to someone and strike up a conversation. Sushi restaurants are also good places to eat to meet others. There are also several restaurants that now have "European" seating, where people sit at the same table as other parties.

Good luck on your adventures!
