Cat carriers: Transport your cat comfortably in a cat carrier

The best way to transport your cat is to put your cat into a safe environment that protects the animal from other animals and people, as well as preventing your cat from running away. Yes, pet carriers can safely hold a cat or a dog, or whatever animal you choose to have for a pet that will fit comfortably within that protected environment. It should be large enough to allow your cat to move around in during the short time that your cat is within the container. It should also allow your cat to see whatever might be near the carrier.

It is true that most animals do not like to be put into a cage and they get the feeling that they will never be able to leave it. Well, you have to allow your pet to become familiar with its carrier. You can do so by keeping the door open when not in use and let the animal investigate the interior on its own. So too, you can convert the floor of the carrier into a pet bed where your pet can go into for a nap or just for a little privacy.

Sooner or later your cat will regard the carrier as its own little home and not just a place where you put him or her into for that trip to the vet.. Having done so, you can take your cat to places outside of your home without causing a great deal of distress to your cat. Then again, if you use your pet carrier for the purpose of just taking your cat to the vet, well, after the first few times your cat might avoid that carrier like it was the plague. So now you have to take your cat to other places so you keep the creature guessing as to where it is going.

I do not recommend taking your cat aboard an aircraft. It is true that the airline will tell you what kind or size pet carrier that is allowed aboard the aircraft, but you better believe that it will cost some money to transport your cat in a safe manner. As such, you might want to board the cat at a place where it will be well taken care of while you are on vacation. You might be surprised to discover that the cost to do so may not be more than the cost to take your cat with you.

It should go without saying that people who have cats truly do want those cats to be as happy and as healthy as possible. That is why they take their cats to the vet on a regular basis. As a matter of fact, those animals require just as much care as we Humans. Like us, they get sick or might hurt themselves or just need some grooming once in a while. As such, the proper size pet carrier is the best way to transport your cherished cat to wherever you choose to take it.
