Music is the secondary most important part in a church service. In music, we can give our praises to God through songs. Music does not only include the lyrics, rhythms and sounds but it also includes all the people behind the instruments and the songs being sang.

Starting a Christian music ministry takes a lot of dedication, courage, patience and humility. Dedication must be centered to your purpose. That is, to glorify God with all your heart and with all your soul. Courage must be your strength when there will be problems arising. Patience must be your mentor in order to endure difficulties along the way. Humility must be your ground to stay open for improvements and corrections.

When looking for the musicians and singers, you must consider those church members who really have the heart to join the ministry even when they are not the best. You can also help them discover their God-given talents in the long run. If you see a member who is not active but has the potential to be a part of the ministry, you can encourage this person in developing his talent. You could also invite this person when you have practices so that he or she can have an overview of the ministry. Maybe this could be a way for that person to join the group.

Whe acquiring instruments and equipments to be used, you should consider the church's budget if it is able to finance the need of the ministry or not. If not, then you wait. You can ask for help and prayers among the church members that God may touch their hearts to help the ministry in order to reach out to other people.

When preparing and selecting songs to be sang in the church, it must be in accord with the church's principles and doctrines about music. Songs must not only be based on the mood of the leader or any music members. Just because one feels like singing it or playing it. Instead, it must correspond with the Sunday's message or monthly theme of the church.

The Christian music ministry will become successful and be blessed when it is accompanied with fervent prayer and devotion. tStarting a Christian music ministry is only one way of worshipping and serving God. Still the best service one can offer to God is by hearing and doing His word. So to be pleasing and acceptable in the sight of God is not only the perfection in playing music and singing the songs but most of all every member should understand their role and purpose that what they are doing is for the Lord's glory and honor. "For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding." Psalms 47:7
