Helium is a constantly evolving website and there is room for everyone to add great articles. But how do you know what type of articles you should consider adding to Helium? There are many tips and tricks to choosing the right article titles. If you feel like you have writers block, consider these ideas for finding your next topic.
Focus on Expertise
Everyone is an expert in something. Think about the ways that your job and personal life can be translated into articles. While your work expertise may seem like the obvious choice, there are many things in your household that people may want to know. From how to create a budget to the best ways to remove stains from laundry, simple knowledge is often the most searched for.
Knowledge and Information
Many of the most popular subjects on Helium are "how to" type articles, and there is a good reason for it. Many of Google's most common searches begin with those two words. People come to Helium looking for information on how to complete a particular task. Though you may think "How to choose the right dog" is a simple title, someone else might be looking for advice that you have.
Write What You Love
One of the most common pieces of writing advice that people give is to "write what you know." However, that can also be the most boring piece of advice. There are plenty of opportunities on Helium for writers to research and learn about subject matter that interests them. If you are passionate about something, you can take the time to learn more about it. Just make sure that you use more legitimate sources than Wikipedia to find information.
Hot Subjects
There are many websites that can help you locate hot search engine subjects and keywords. The more traffic that the search engines bring to your article, the more money you will earn. Writing about popular topics is a great way to guarantee that people will want to read what you have to write.
Out of Date Topics
There are many titles on Helium that have been neglected for months, or even years. If you find a title with old information or articles that do not meet the current writing standards, consider adding an updated article. You can improve your writing score by writing a top-ranking article as well as providing current information to your readers.
Upfront Payments
If you write for money, focus your efforts on channels that are eligible for upfront payments and the empty title bonus. This way, you will receive a payment based on your current number of writing stars. Upfront payments are a reliable way to earn extra cash in a slow economy. If you need some extra money to fill in your budget, Helium can help you.
Suggest New Titles
Is there something you want to write about, but that isn't represented in the current titles? Try using the "Suggest Title" feature on your "My Helium" page to offer something new to the website. You will need to enter keywords and a search phrase with your new title and then the Helium team will evaluate it. If your title is selected, you will receive an email when it goes live on the website. If you write the first article to a title you suggest in an eligible channel, you will receive the empty title bonus.
It's easy to add new articles to Helium on almost any subject. No matter what you do in your daily life, you have knowledge and experience that you can share with the world. The more articles that you write, the more ideas you will come up with. Keep writing and watch your earnings grow.
