Have bus, will travel. The city of Lawrence, has a major intercity bus service that can connect you with every part of this city and all cities and towns in the area. The buses stop on every corner on the hour. The cost is only two dollars roundtrip. The Bus main station is on Common Street in Lawrence. At this Bus Station you can pick up a schedule as well as purchase tickets and recieve any info concerning which bus to take. The Buckley Bus Station is located at 295 Common St. Lawrence, Ma
MVRT is the bus company's name. Merrimack Valley Regional Transit. You can see them all over the city. They even travel from Lawrence to the Loop in Methuen, or Salem NH. In the Summer you can take a bus to Salisbury Beach spend the day at the beach and then catch the bus home. Many residents use the bus systme everyday to get to work. It saves a lot of gas money and can be relaxing when someone else drives. Especialy through these brutal winters. Many times I have taken the bus from the Prospect Hill section of Lwrencce to go shopping up in Salem Nh. They have the biggest Mall in the area and we in Lawrence are lucky there is a bus to drive us.
As a child I never took the school bus to school as I always lived too close, so it is like a new adventure ri ding a bus. Every city in United States can be reached by by Public Transportation.
Lawrenvce has a good transportation system. Not just within the city, but they can get you into Boston too. Just take the T, a small train service that travels all over the north shore. The pickup is at the Patricia MCgovern Transportation Ceneter on the corner of Merrimack St. and South Union Street. . The cost for the T is only about 1.50 and like I said it travels into Boston. You can also get to Haverhill and Newburyport via the bus or T. It is cnvienent, and cheap, making it excellent transportation especially with the prices of fuel these days. There are also Shuttle cabs and taxi's which are considered pricate transportation. They will take you to airports and train stations or any destination you nees. All for a fee.. For these van/shuttles, it can cost about 35.oo from Lawrence to Logan. Seems to me you would be better off on the bus. Since Lawrence is not all the big, I have walked many times to where ever I wanted to get to. While in Lawrence you'll get around, just hop on the bus, take the T, or call a taxi. Either way, you'll get where you're going.
