Every day should hold special loving acts rather than reserving them for Valentine's Day. Showering them with hugs and kisses, and "I love you" when you first see them in the morning makes every day special. Cooking them a special breakfast that you know they love can make any day special too. Playing their favorite cd during a candlelight dinner always goes well. If your loved one is feeling under the weather, you can treat them to tea or soup with crackers in bed. No one likes to be sick, but when you're pampered during this time rather than left alone it really shows your love.
Valentine's Day can be celebrated with gifts of chocolate, flowers, dinner for two out, theater tickets or a ring. My hubby often brings me flowers and doesn't reserve them only on Valentine's Day. He often sends me a loving recording that he's dedicated to me on Youtube.com. I often send him "Just Because" loving ecards to him. We really love each other and are always doing loving things to keep our love alive! Early in our relationship, my hubby wrote a story called, "The Girl In The Window" that he said I inspired him to write. I in turn wrote "The Love Of My Life" to show my love for him. Writing little love notes and leaving them where they will find them is another way to keep your love flowing. When my hubby sings songs on karoake sites, he often dedicates them to me, and I'm surprised with them in an email.
Although I'm usually the one who takes care of paying the bills and cooking, if I've had a very trying day paying the bills, my hubby will sometimes take over cooking dinner to make me feel loved and happy. Even though one or the other of you usually takes care of some chore, the other one can do it occasionally, whether it's taking the trash out or doing the vacuuming. We usually do the shopping together and go over the supermarket flyer and mark the specials we want to pick up, but some people might love it if you do the shopping list and shop for the two of you alone occasionally. These more mundane things really make a difference.
There are also very romantic things that you can plan like preparing a bubble bath with candles and soft music for your loved one. You might also want to give each other back massages on occasion with a nice massage oil. All these loving actions make a loving relationship much more loving! Of course, there are extremely busy days or days when you just don't feel well and can't be at your best loving behavior, but the point is that you don't need to reserve all those special loving actions you can do for Valentine's Day alone. It is great that there is a special day to celebrate love, but let's make it many more days!
