Poetry: Heartbreak

by Mortimer

Created on: February 06, 2009

Something's got to break besides my heart.
Something's got to change besides the seasons.
I need your spark to jump my start,
To know my rhymes jive with your reasons.

Something's got to break besides my heart.
I can't go on alone like this.
Shine your light into my dark.
Bring me to life with your kiss.

Something's got to move besides your shadow through my mind,
Painting scenery in a parallel time.
Like a screensaver on my memory I find
You dancing across my mind.

Something's got to break besides my heart.
I am so very much in love with you.
I face a world that's blown apart
And a dream that is torn in two.

Something's got to break besides my heart.
In pieces of prisms I view
The splintered remnants so sharp
Of a life that has come unglued.
