I'm Gonna Let the Sunshine In Today
(Verse One)
I've been living here in darkness
With my back to the world
Because a broken heart can really bring you pain
So many memories and "what ifs"
And crystal framed photographs
Held me prisoner to the pitter patter of a cold, cold rain
(Bridge)
But now the times are changing
And my mind's rearranging
My heart seems to be on the mend
So I'm opening these curtains
Because one thing is certain
You're not worth the time my friend
(Refrain)
I'm gonna let the sunshine in today
Let it paint these walls yellow instead of grey
No more thinking of you, there's a better world out there
No more shadows in the darkness
I long to breathe some fresh air
I'm gonna let the sunshine in today
Time to let those old photos fade away
No more ghosts to haunt me because love is all around
I've been hiding here for ages
But now I'm ready to be found
(Verse 2)
Maybe the end's really a new beginning
To better brighter things
Because once at the bottom you can only go the other way
So many unanswered prayers
And mementos with dusty layers
Kept me hanging on to you instead of living for today
(Bridge)
But now the times are changing
And my mind's rearranging
My heart seems to be on the mend
So I'm opening these curtains
Because one thing is certain
You're not worth the time my friend
(Refrain)
I'm gonna let the sunshine in today
Let it paint these walls yellow instead of grey
No more thinking of you, there's a better world out there
No more shadows in the darkness
I long to breathe some fresh air
I'm gonna let the sunshine in today
Time to let those old photos fade away
No more ghosts to haunt me because love is all around
I've been hiding here for ages
But now I'm ready to be found
Yes, I'm ready to be found
