to tricycles, bicycles and doll's pram to keep her small visitors amused. Another "help yourself" incident occurred when she "borrowed" some extension ladders from another neighbor while they were on holiday. When they came home and found no ladders hanging where they should have been, the husband, a police officer, made a report. Red faces and apologies from the weird one, as she returned them to their rightful owners.
Yet another neighbor "lost" her yard brush, only to discover my next-door weirdo had borrowed it - for a week. The yard brush owner took a picture of her returning it and made a joke about it all. The tin hat was put on her activities for me, the day she came and asked for my dining room chairs; she was having a dinner party. You could have knocked me down with a feather. I asked what she did for extra chairs before I moved in, and she told me the previous owners of my house used to lend her their chairs. I said I would not be carrying on the tradition, I needed the chairs myself. Again, it was a glorious day when she sold her house and they moved. No longer need I worry about what might go missing, or about her obnoxious toddler using my garden as a toilet because, according to her "He likes it in there better." And what he liked, he had to have, she doted on him, which is what mothers do, but not to that extent, please.
Today, I have two great families on either side. The children are friendly and polite, the parents are good people who would help you out any day, so I offer thanks to the Allocation of Neighbors Gods for their presence. If you enjoyed these musings, then I have more here and also you could look for me at http://triond.com/users/anniel undy. Thank you for reading, you are what makes it worthwhile putting pen to paper.
