Once asked, "What would you want, a million friends or a million bucks what would you choose?" Without pause I stated, "I would choose the million friends , because with a million friends I wouldn't need a million bucks!' [in this case a million pounds]. When I volunteered, people would ask me why I do it? I would reply, "I'm paying my dues because I am so healthy." And it probably cost us over a million since 1985, since my health turned sour, so, I can tell you what money like this means to someone like me.
Seriously, when you look back, do you think about how much something cost, you when you are doing nothing but soaking up the sun or drinking a nice cool sweet tea? How about when you are driving, and an oldie but goodies song comes over the airwaves, and just for a moment you think back, and it sparks a moment of emotion for you? Would you not be lonely if you had no one to spend your time with? It would not take a million pounds, time is something that is more valuable than money. Some people just don't really know the value of it. It is so sacred, people are desperately seeking ways to stop time, and would if they could, spend a million to get some back!
But, now that I have left my self for a moment, just give me a million and I will spend it better and wiser than most would! First I would get a double lung transplant so I could enjoy my life again, as I used to by dancing and being athletic. Then I would take my home, and make it much larger like two more rooms, so I could use my wheelchair and have more of a life in my home. I would have someone construct a wrap around porch, so I could sit on it and listen to my warblers and cardinals in the summer months and admire my flowers. I would have a pool built, so I could strengthen my leg and perhaps walk again. I would hire a person to help my husband, to give him a res-bit. One he really deserves! Seriously though, isn't this one of the most over asked questions known to man/woman? So, not to seem flippant, I guess I will just have to deal with a million pounds of friends, for I fear I will never have the pleasure of knowing what It feels like to own a million bucks/pounds! However, it would be nice to just be a millionaire for a day or two and feel it out. But then what? It probably would break ya knowing you had the chance to be a millionaire for a day and you didn't do what you really wanted to do because you were so flabbergasted by being one for the day. So, it is probably best to say that I could spend a million in a day, just give me the chance. Well, on the other hand, just give me one dollar more than I could spend!
