I work as a technician in a semiconductor factory. It is a Japanese factory which produced chips for electronic industry. It is a job matching my qualification of electronic engineering diploma. Some would say that my job is quite cool. Maybe they are right. But, in reality and for me myself, I hate my job.

Yes, I hate my job so much. "So why don't you quit?" some people might ask. Well, it is because the pay is quite good and I actually don't have much choice right now. For almost nine years sire, I soldier on with my current job.

"So why I hate my job?" Let me explain my job first. I am a technician. I need to make sure my machines are in a good condition so the production targets are met. I have to take necessary action to replace parts and setting data. I need to wear special jumpsuit at all time during those repairing job because my job place is in a clean-room environment. Other than that, I need to do reports when there is a major breakdown. I also collect data, made simple drawing, attend meetings and rest according to a scheduled time. Well, I just hate all those things.

I hate being a docile animal. I hate the need to pretend that my boss is an intelligent being. I hate all this acting like you agree with what your boss is saying. It is so sickening right to the bone. To stay in this job you need to fool yourself. Yes, you should just act like a foolish person, that is. When you successfully act like a good worker, then you will get promoted. I am tired with all this.

The assessment job by the upper management is also another factor that caused me to hate my job. Well, we cannot expect all people to be fair to us, but the injustice that happens in my workplace is beyond my stand to accept. I know many companies still have nepotism and crony-ism in their workplace, this could not be avoided, but when done in a blatant way, you could not help but feeling really disappointed.

It is my hope that I do not have to work, but at this moment I just need to continue working to pay bills and continue my life. It sound rather silly, but I have no choice or rather I still cannot find another way out. Maybe in some other lucky day I shall hit a jackpot and then I can quit with dignity. That is always my favorite dream. I want to be free doing whatever I want, whenever I like, wherever it is. In an academic term, I want to have a financial freedom.

I may still working where I am working right now. But the true thing inside my head is that I hate my job and I don't want to continue it. Maybe it sounds childish, but I have the right to have my own dream, I figure.
