With the focus on 'going green', consumers are expecting, even demanding that companies start manufacturing their products in a cleaner-for-the-environment manner, and many consumer are even willing to pay a few extra bucks for all-natural and ecologically safe products. One area where the search for more environmentally safe products is the most intense is in the area of cleaning products.
The myth is that cleaning products require harsh chemicals and detergents to be able to cut through grease, grime, mildew and mold, bacteria and nasty viruses. The truth is, there are a lot of environmentally safe, all-natural and/or plant-derived cleansers that cut through all these nasties without adding additional chemicals into the air or water systems, and can even help improve the environment.
Many companies are hearing the cries for cleaner, safer and better cleaning products and are answering those cries with new 'green' products that are safer. Let's look at a few of these companies and their new green or environmentally safe products.
Simple Green Cleaning Product Line
Simple Green has long been the leader in environmentally safe cleansing products. They have repeated been honored with the Good Housekeeping's seal of approval for their non-toxic, biodegradable cleaning products.
Also included in their line-up are their new Naturals, which include a variety of cleansers and sanitizers using naturally derived plant extracts as the basis of the cleaning components.
Sunshine Makers, the parent company who makes Simple Green, have been environmentally aware for over 30 years.
Clorox Green Works Product Line
Clorox Bleach is one of the most well-known cleaning products of all time, not to mention the other Clorox brand product line of detergents and cleansers. Clorox, in answer to a more environmentally-friendly product line, has introduced their Green Works products.
Included are: bathroom cleanser, toilet cleanser, all-purpose cleanser, disinfectant, and a glass and surface cleanser. Each product contains the Sierra Club logo endorsement, which is not easy to attain.
Seventh Generation
This company is one of the leaders and innovators many other companies are following in the quest for the best environmentally safe and non-toxic products for cleaning our homes. With their natural glass and surface cleaner, shower cleaner, and a carpet and spot cleaner, this company has products for just about any cleaning need in our homes.
Summary
There are many other product available on the market now that do a superb job cleaning while helping keep the environment safe too. Some of these products are become less expensive and are super easy to use. Consumers should purchase products from socially aware companies, such as the ones listed here, whenever possible, and let other manufacturers know that consumers are aware of the damage their products can do to our world.
