Using a controller on a PC is actually one of the easiest items to do anymore. In fact, it could be best to say that it could be about controllers that have USB ports. In order to be able to do this, it is going to be recommended to have an empty USB port. Without one, something will have to be unplugged and it would be highly recommended that it would be something minor and nothing that would be considered major.
The first thing that would be needed if it hasn’t been done is simply go out and buy a controller. As far as which kind, it could be about any kind provided it has a USB port at the end. A recommended option would be something like an Xbox 360 controller as they can be used for PC games as well. In fact, it could be said that it could be easier. With some games like Halo, it would be just like playing it on the Xbox and made a lot easier.
Put it inside the open USB port and then let it recognize it and install automatically. It shouldn’t take more than a few seconds. Once it has been completed, then it is recognized and can be used to play games whatsoever. The process for this has to be considered extremely easy and nothing that would be considered too complicated or hard whatsoever.
After that has been established, go into an emulator and depending upon which one can determine the settings overall. Before even starting a game, it would be best to go into the settings and input the controls based upon the controller directly. Once that has been done, just load up any game and begin playing. That is all that needs to be done in order to accomplish that feat.
When looking at it, there just isn’t much else that could be added. Depending upon the model and the type of controller it is it could take a little bit of time if there is a need for installation purposes. It isn’t likely it will be needed but still, if it has to be done, do so and it shouldn’t take that long.
The process is not that difficult when setting it up. Using a controller for some emulators can make the game a bit easier especially with some of the more complex games like the N64 games specifically. Of course, it is an example but the point is still the same as it will be easier to use a controller because of knowing where to go and how each button works.
Ultimately, it probably is a good idea to consider that option. If something is wrong with the controller, there is the option of going back to the keyboard so it’s not like it will be a complete failure but that’s one way of looking at it.
