When it comes to being successful, there really is no big secret to getting it done. Success starts with you my friend, and just like forest fires, only you can prevent being successful. There are a lot of elements to being successful, and they all come from the mindset that you bring to the table when you are trying to accomplish a goal. There are three key components to being a successful person, and that is to be hard working, be confident in what you are, and to always have a positive mindset when you set a goal.
The first component to being successful is to be hard working. They say that luck is the combination of hard work and opportunity meeting at the same time. This is very true, as nothing just happens, you have to prepare for it, and be ready for your opportunity.
Sure it may seem lucky that your writing finds its way onto the Internet, but what happens if that is the only article that you have ever written? When an eager editor sends you a letter asking for more work, what will you show them? Maybe a hastily written article or two, but you won't be really ready for your chance if you haven't put the time in to establishing yourself as writer beforehand.
The second component to being successful is to be confident in who you are, and what direction your life is going in. Whether it be career, education, personal or any other goals, you have to know that you are making the right decisions, even if success isn't always as easy as you want it to be.
There will be many struggles that come along with you for the ride of life, and you have to be able to keep working hard and plugging away, and eventually you will be rewarded. Again, when you get the opportunity to do something big, you can't say you can't do it, because then you never will.
The third component to being successful is to be positive at all times, because life isn't always what it seems. You may feel as if you lost your big break, or that you will never get one,but you never know who you will run into that could make your life better in an instant.
You have to treat everyone well, and respect those around you, because who knows what they may become and how doing them a favor may get you a few favors down the road. Respect is earned, and if you have the respect of others, you will generally obtain more opportunities than those who aren't respected.
There is no one key to success, there are several, and working in unison they create success. You have to work hard, believe in yourself, and be positive in all your endeavors. If you don't believe in yourself who will? If you don't work hard, what will you ever achieve? Lastly, if you don't have the respect of those around you, you won't truly be successful, you may have money, or fame, but the respect of others is the ticket to a lasting legacy.
