" Appreciating what I have " Since being laid off from work, I have put my attention toward things that really needed my attention all this time. After the layoff, I about drove myself mad trying to find a job. It has not been an easy task what so ever. Depression started to kick in, I was feeling very worthless. As time went on, I started finding hobbies to occupy myself. For example. I started helping wash dishes, helping cook, and playing guitar. On an Intellectual level, I started helping the kids with home work, went back to writing. If I don't do these activities on a daily task, it is like I have withdrawals. As bad as it hurts financially, I have learned to be thankful for what I do have. On top of that, I have opened my mind to different careers just from doing my hobbies.
" Set goals " Since the layoff, I have been exploring other careers. But one career interest has been really on my mind as of late. I have been really considering a job as a dish washer. I have been washing the dishes since my lay off. It occurred to me, that I have somehow developed a passion for it. When I say passion, I mean it is something that I will do with no complaint. I know it isn't the best paying job, but it is a start. If I succeed, I see it leading to other opportunities.
" A hobby that pays " Writing has always been a passion of mine. I figured since that I have an account with Helium, that I would write in my spare time to try and get me a small stash going. I figured once I find a job, that I would have a weekly check for my basic needs and let my Helium earnings act as if it were a savings account. Lets face it, it would not nearly be enough to retire from, or to do as a living. But it never hurts to have a hobby to earn a little cash to add to the piggy bank. Someday the effort will probably be very beneficiary to me.
" Reestablish myself " Of all the ups and downs here lately, I feel things are gonna go according to the way I planned. Time off has given me a second peace of mind. I have been able to explore and discover things about myself that I never knew existed. On top of that, I have been able to think my goals through, learning about the pro's and con's of any decision that I have made. The gut feeling that I have felt lately, has been the most motivating I have felt in a long time. I am gonna act upon what my heart feels is right. Sitting around and being angry was absolutely not the answer for me
