Poetry: Just call my name

Just call my name

I was lowered into the cold earth

His hand slipped from mine

He held it above mefor a second

Then said

Just call my name,

Ask me to take youfrom here

For any reason

I will return

And let you out

I looked up at him, my own blood blinded me

As it dripped into my eyes

Understand? He whispered

I nodded, then leaned back against the dirt wall

Sliding to the ground

Wait, I called up to him

Pulling back when he leaned in the dark hole

My hand, still, outstretched, I cringed

You need me? He whispered, sickly sweet

I don't know your name

What should I call you?

He smiled and didn't speak

The next second, he was no longer looking down on me

I blinked as the light above dimmed

He was moving away with the candle

He didn't answer my question

Your name, I screamed it this time

What is your name?

A faint hissing sound, circled down to me

Death my name is Death

The dirt moved beneath my hands

I tried to see, before the candle light was gone

Bugs, crawled out of the wet dirt,

The darker it got the more they came

Screaming, I called to him, Death

Take me from here

Death

The nauseating sound of his voice drifted to me

Patience, death will take you soon
