Sightless Vision

Moments passed by like ripples in the lake,
And I waited, waited for something to happen.
But not a sound could I hear
The window seemed an empty canvas,
A scream grew in my throat,
Would there be some colors for God's sake?

I stretched out my palms and caught some thin air,
Alas, it slipped out of my hands,
I know its inevitable, the blindness,
But do I deserve loneliness,
Screeching brakes and screaming sirens,
The next thing I remember is a feeling of despair.

Light shut me out, darkness closed me in,
Can't find my friends anywhere,
Bored of this visionless company,
And I don't find it uncanny,
My young friends' defiance of friendship,
To leave me alone, in a game that I couldn't win.

Few days of insight, made me think,
I might have lost my sight,
But shouldn't I spare a thought
For those who never had in their eyes, a ray of light
