Shucks those cobwebs showed up again
Hanging in the corners and under my bed
I had a dream they wound me tight
I looked like a mummy, it was such a fright
I closed my eyes and wished real quick
That I would wake up and not feel sick
My hands were tugging here and there
Pushing those cobwebs into the air
I finally woke up in a dripping sweat
Only to find my bed was wet.
No, it's not what you might think
When I flailed around I spilled my drink
My mom was sweet, she did not yell
But I had to clean my room, better than well.
The cobwebs are no longer at hand
The cup of water by the bed was banned
Now my room is shiny and bright
Missing cobwebs in the dark of night
It smells so fresh, and I sleep so sound
Dreaming of floating on a cloud.

These silver threads
Running through my head
Each one a memory
Of little deaths
And emptiness
