Online Marketing Business Opportunities

Before you can dive into online marketing business opportunities by signing up with network providers such as Commission Junction or Linkshare, you have to first build and launch a website.

Yet many would-be entrepreneurs hope to somehow skip this crucial stage; they want to run with an affiliate marketing opportunity before they've learned how to walk. They expect their 5-page website (launched yesterday!) is going to make $1000 by the end of the month. Or they think they can buy a fully-developed website, complete with traffic, yet only pay a few hundred dollars for it (ha!). Or they write a few entries on their blog every month and, with no readers or rss feed, hope to make money off the Adsense ads on the site.

None of those methods will work. While there are many online marketing business opportunities out there, the key word is opportunity. You're given a chance but you still have to put in the work. And that's what will separate those who will succeed from those who are only dreamers.

Building a Niche Site into a Business

So to begin at the beginning, you must first create a website. One important point to remember is: Don't try to create too many sites at first. You'll only get overwhelmed trying to manage them all. Online marketing business opportunities provided by advertisers are indeed plentiful but you only need one or two sites to start.

More specifically, your plan should be to start with two niche sites. The first site will be a small one, reflecting a subject you're passionate about. This starter site can teach you about registering, designing, and launching a website. The second website will be more intense and focused on generating income. It will also be a larger and more developed niche site, geared toward higher paying commission links.

Once the one or two sites are running, you must continually add unique content be it articles, reviews, or a daily blog.
