NORM'S UPDATE

We traveled on North,
From the land of palm.
Up mountain trails,
With our Stormriders on.

Winding up hills,
Pulled our trusty steed.
With pack horse in tow,
A hardy breed.

The sky it did darken,
Just North of Cheyenne.
We pulled up our collars,
Forgetting our tan.

Our path it did narrow,
Our footing unsure.
But our leader kept plugging,
"We gotta endure!"

At 6000 feet,
Now our trail disappeared.
So into the clouds,
Our Trail Boss she steered.

Then out of the blizzard,
An object was seen.
Another pack train,
With us counted thirteen.

"There's safety in numbers,"
Was said to one 'nother.
But with this vis' so low,
The snow threatened to smother!

We searched every camp,
For a place to hitch up.
Or light up a fire,
And fill up a cup.

But just as despair
Had begun to set in.
A part in the clouds,
We trotted right in.

Our camp is set up,
The fire is roaring.
Hot toddies are steaming,
The temperature soaring.

Past Douglas Wyoming,
There's no way to go.
This pack train's been halted,
By two feet of snow!
