Now that we have surpassed the 25th Anniverasy of WrestleMania, let's take a look back at some of the Iconic Moments that will never fade in our minds from the "Super Bowl of Sports Entertainment."
1. WrestleMania III from the Pontiac Silverdown in Pontiac, Michigan set the largest recorded attendance for a live indoor sporting event in North America for the venue back on March 29, 1987. A reported 93,173 spectators witnessed one of the greatest matches in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) history as Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat defeated "Macho Man" Randy Savage for the Intercontinental title. Later on in the main event 7-foot, 500 pound Andre the Giant did the honours for Hulk Hogan. In an image that has been replayed in thousands of highlight reels and promotional items, Hogan hoisted Andre up for an enormous bodyslam, quickly dropped the leg and cemented his legacy as one of the most dominant heavyweight champions of the era.
2. WrestleMania IV from Trump Plaza in Atlantic City, NJ was held on March 27, 1988 and featured the finals of a 14-man tournament for the vacant Heavyweight Championship. Many great matches took place during this event. Fans were treated to a rematch from the previous year as Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant squared off in a semi-final bout. As the Pay Per View event closed in on it's fourth hour "Macho Man" Randy Savage defeated "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase in a tremendous Main Event with the assistance of Hulk Hogan, setting up a year long feud that didn't culminate until the following WrestleMania.
3. WrestleMania VI from SkyDome in Toronto, Ontario took place on April 1, 1990 and was the first WrestleMania to take place outside of the United States. 67,678 people were on hand to witness Intercontinental Champion The Ultimate Warrior lock horns with the Heavyweight Champion Hulk Hogan. The two most dominant competitors in the WWE facing off against each other at the same time brought the crowd to their feet. Much like Hogan slamming Andre three years earlier, the visual of the Warrior holding Hogan over his head in a gorrilla press before slamming him to the mat has become in it's own way, legendary.
4. WrestleMania X returned to where it all began, Madison Square Garden in New York City. A sold out crowd watched Bret "Hitman" Hart lose to his brother Owen Hart in the opening match and still go on to defeat Yokozuna for the Heavyweight Championship in the main event. But the match that most people talk about from this
