Songs: Friday night

Created on: February 05, 2009   Last Updated: February 11, 2009

Verse 1

On a Friday night, in the tavern down town,

there's bound to be a fight

when the sailors are around

there's bound to be some laughter,

followed by some tears,

in-between the whiskey macs and overflowing beers.

Chorus

Come raise up your glasses, lets drink to your health,

lets tap on the barrel of wisdom and stealth,

let us dance on the tables and kick up our heels

as the fiddler plays those old country reels.

Verse 2

On a Friday night, in the tavern down town,

the girls will smile from painted lips,

while the boys tongues hit the ground

the girls will wiggle past them,

giggling as they go,

winking at the barmen and reaping what they sew.

Chorus

Come raise up your glasses, lets drink to your health,

lets tap on the barrel of wisdom and stealth,

let us dance on the tables and kick up our heels

as the fiddler plays those old country reels.

Verse 3

On a Friday night in the tavern down town

the patrons will be high

like their never coming down

the drinkers will be merry

and the bar cat will be fat

eating pork scratching from a locals crumpled hat

Chorus

Come raise up your glasses, lets drink to your health,

lets tap on the barrel of wisdom and stealth,

let us dance on the tables and kick up our heels,

as the fiddler plays all those old country reels.
