The benefits of writing articles are plentiful. It is possible to gain a good long term income from writing articles, and millions of Internet users around the world can access articles online. That is an amazing thought for anyone who loves to write. Not only do we enjoy the benefit of having our work read and appreciated, it encourages more writing, and better quality writing.

One of the greatest benefits of writing articles is the amount of factual knowledge a writer can discover and learn in the process of carrying out research for an article.

Good research is imperative in writing informational articles. Facts need to be verified. This involves searching for original sources and official sites, and never relying on information posted on a general website without checking it out.

Knowing how to research is of further benefit, because it gives a writer the advantage of being able to write on topics outside their own experience or knowledge. I have sold travel articles on places I never visited, and made money from articles on things I have never done.

Writing articles is also a learning process. Skills need to be developed and adapted. Writing web content involves knowledge of SEO and use of keywords. Writing for some sites requires an informative magazine style, rather than a personal approach

An article writer needs to know the market they write for and how to earn money for writing.

The way to gain regular income from writing articles online is to produce a lot of articles. Some sites pay upfront, or have a market for submitting to assignments and selling your work. Others sites can provide an ongoing residual income from advertising revenue, or shared revenue.

A writer should not expect to make a lot of money immediately. It takes time to build up a reputation and finding out about the various sources of writing revenue.

My writing income comes exclusively from the Internet. Some of my articles appear on revenue sharing sites, and others on sites that have paid me for writing web content. I began by trying a few different article sites to discover the ones most suitable for my writing, and where I could make money more easily.

Helium is the best place for me to publish my articles. My monthly income at Helium comes from a mix of daily revenue share, sales in the Helium Marketplace, upfront payments and other bonuses.

Money is a good motivation for writing, but to earn money also means developing good writing skills and gaining knowledge. Writing articles is a rewarding activity in itself, and the process of writing articles has additional benefits to that of making money.
