9.30am: Woke early, and now the housework is finished, I'm looking forward to starting a new unit in my Literature course today. I'm hoping I know some of the students from other units, which makes it an easy transition. The on-line discussion is usually very stimulating. We are comparing characters from two plays, and I need feedback so I can start my first assignment. The tutor seems prepared to give a lot of her time. Her tips on understanding the literature are very helpful. Now it's time for a coffee and study.
12.30pm: Lunchtime, and I have a doctor's appointment at 2pm, so I'll take a book to read while I'm waiting. Due to an emergency, the doctor was late, but I did get some reading done. Now I can answer the questions from the Study Guide. Three of the other students are 'old friends' and we had a great discussion. They've given me a few ideas on how to begin the assignment, although, I have a question for the tutor, which I will post on the discussion board. I know she'll answer quickly. The assignment isn't due for two weeks, which gives me time to plan properly.
5.00pm: It's time to cook dinner, then I need to watch a program on TV, which may give me some background for my assignment.
8.30pm: That program was very helpful. Now I have some good ideas, I can start on the assignment. I'll work until 10.00pm, then time for bed, as we're going out tomorrow. I feel confident with this unit and can now organize the rest of my commitments for the week. Having the time to socialize, as well as study is the bonus on-line learning gives me, and it's great to know my degree is close to becoming a reality.
