Having multiple partners seems to be one of those topics that stir the embers of discord faster than almost any topic short of gay marriage that I can think of, and many people put out some great arguments for why they should not have multiple partners.

But here is a thought; love has very little to do with sex and a whole lot to do with how you treat one another. I am in a monogamous relationship and love it with all of my heart. But there are times that the many friends of mine that are polyamorus show a capacity to love greater than anyone I have ever met. They are the target of a lot of hatred but most of them turn the other cheek and move on with their lives wishing the best for those around them and those who scorn them.

My thought is that if multiple people have a loving relationship and want to be together let them; whether that is a man with multiple wives or a woman with multiple husbands or any combination they desire. Being an American is supposed afford us a freedom to do with our lives as we see fit. And yet we seem to think that we are the judges of what is best for one another whether we like it or not and that is very sad as we are quickly turning our freedom over to the government and it is possible that we may never get this freedom back.

Right or wrong or somewhere in-between I think should be a personal choice. We all know how it feels to be judged by others and none of us like it, why do we do it to others? As long as people go into a relationship with their eyes open then why would the rest of us care?
