A couple that has been married for years can expect a different strategy than would someone who is trying to woo a potential suitor. Exercise caution and good, sound judgement. Your happiness on Valentine's Day revolves around your choices.

The romanticism involved with the 14th of February is delicately linked between reality and perception. Valentine's Day is the one day solely dedicated to expressing your love for another. This love can fall in several categories, either romantic love, or a love borne out of mutual respect between friends. The key to Valentine's Day is to make the day special for that person that means the whole world to you.

Although we should express our love and gratitude for our loved ones on a daily basis, society dictates that this is unreasonable, and true love should be expressed on Valentine's Day only. Capitalism is to blame for this, because Valentine's Day is just another corporate entity trying to pick your pockets. The price of flowers rises dramatically all of a sudden, and the need for pink Teddy Bears swells immeasurably.

With but just one day to dazzle and impress you loved one, you really need to make the day count. Valentine's Day occurs only .3% of the total year. This enhances its significance factor exponentially. Making this day unforgettable and happy is paramount. For a successful and happy Valentine's Day, the following tips may serve beneficial.

1) Smother your loved one with attention. Dote on your loved one and pamper them with all of their favorite things. Sappy works on Valentine's Day. If your loved one can tell beyond a shadow of a doubt that you cherish and worship the ground that they walk on, then your Valentine's Day will be a happy one.

2) Stay focused on your loved one, and don't plan to do anything with another couple or a large group. Stay together just the two of you. Valentine's Day is special, and your loved one will want to be spoiled.
