Chat commands that perform a specific actions are called emotes, and Guild Wars has its share of them. These commands have an animation that goes with them that other players will see. Some of these are different depending on profession and sex of the character. These are the Guild Wars emotes, to give you tips to the game.

/beg - Will say " begs" on the screen.

/beckon - Says " beckons".

/attention - " comes to attention!" is shown and they will stay like that until you move or until you give another emote.

/bored - " is bored".

/boo, /scare - " scares you!" is done to the person that you are targeting to scare.

/agree - Will say " agrees" on the screen.

/bow - " bows" is shown.

/bowhead, /head - Both of these show " bows his/her head" and they will stay bowed until you move or until another emote is made.

/breath, /catchbreath - Both of these have " stops to catch his/her breath" as the emote function.

/clap - " claps" is what is displayed and done.

/cheer - This makes " cheers" come up and display.

/cough - " coughs" on the screen and will make the character cough.

/dance - " starts dancing". This is different depending on if you are male or female and what your primary profession is.

/dancenew - " starts Collectors Edition dancing". This will default to the normal dance for that sex and profession character if they do not have the Collectors Edition.

/excited -" is excited!" is displayed and they will continue to do this until you give another emote or if you move.

/drum, /drums - This makes it go " plays the drums".

/doubletake - This makes a " does a double take" with the character.

/taunt - Target a player and they will see " taunts you".

/violin - " plays the violin sadly" is shown and done.

/wave - " waves" while they do this animation.

/zrank, /zaishen - The character will do a special emote that is linked up with the Zaishen rank.

/yes - " says Yes" is shown.

/no - " says No"

/yawn - " yawns" and is quite showy about it too, good to do after /bored.

/doh - " smacks his/her head. Doh" is displayed.

/fame, /rank - The character will perform a special emote that is animated if they are a rank 3 of Hero or higher.

/flute - " plays the flute".

/flex - " flexes" is shown, and your character will do a great Arnold Schwarzenegger impression.

/fistshake - " shakes a fist angrily" shows as they do it.

/goteam, /encourage - Both of these show " cheers wildly, Go Team!"

/guitar, /airguitar - " plays a mean air guitar" is shown and you become a Guitar hero.

/helpme - " requests help!" good function if you find yourself in trouble.

/point - " points".

/sorry - " apologizes". They look humble.

/ponder - " ponders the situation". They look thoughtfully.

/pout - " pouts". Go ahead throw a tantrum!

/highfive, /five - Both of these do " says High Five!".

/jump - " jumps" and they'll jump.

/moan - " moans" is shown.

/laugh - " laughs heartily."

/rock - " plays Rock, Paper, Scissors" and you'll choose Rock.

/paper - " plays Rock, Paper, Scissors" and you'll choose Paper.

/scissors, /scis - " plays Rock, Paper, Scissors" and you'll choose Scissors.

/sit, /afk - These make the character sit.

/stand - This make the character stand back up. These ESC key does that too.

/kneel - " kneels" Can trigger in game actions too.

/pickme - " says Pick Me"

/sigh - " sighs", also good with /bored and /yawn.

/shoo - " shoos you away" is shown on your targets screen.

/ready - " is ready for action". Seen a lot before battle.

/roar - " roars."

/scratch - " scratches" is done and seen.

/salute - " salutes". Good to do with the /attention command.
