Poetry: Mother

by Kelly Adolph

Created on: February 04, 2009   Last Updated: July 23, 2010

The words you speak

They sometimes hurt.

Why must you always

Minimize my worth.

A mother should love you,

Protect you,

And keep you.

A mother's the only one you know

Who will be true.

Why do you hurt me with your words?

Sometimes the things you say are so absurd.

Why do you hate me?

Am I not your dove?

What must I do for,

A mother's love.
