Someone posed a simple question.
A question about my obsession.
An obsession with being in LOVE.
It took me a moment to ponder that thought.
I didn't want to give some answer were taught.
I needed the right words from above.
The one thing that we all posses, you see.
Is our ability to feel, and feel freely,
Without someone questioning our intent.
We all have longed for something in our lifetime.
That didn't make much sense in anyone's mind.
But we still prayed for it every day none the less.
To answer that question on the basis of me alone.
I'd have to say yes, I obsess over what isn't known.
A true and honest love from a good man.
If you took a single moment to walk in my shoes.
You wouldn't be questioning the obsession I choose.
You'd be trying to rectify this the best way you can.
When I write about a love I want,
I'm expressing the way I feel.
What I feel, is emptiness at times,
And a yearning for my heart to heal.
To you it may seem like I'm obsessing,
Over a dream like state of being.
But I can assure you it's out there for me,
My trouble is my lack of believing.
Can you honestly say that there is nothing in your life,
That you crave above all other?
If you deny that, your fooling yourself,
And you can't relate, so why bother.
I long for a love that fulfills a part of my very existence.
Something I can't get from family or friends or anyone under false pretense.
Don't misunderstand when I say,
I need a man to give me the love I desire.
I get lots of love from others,
Shooteven my brothers,
But it doesn't hold a flame in my fire.
I've heard every day of how blessed I am in every way,
To experience the unconditional love a child.
What people can't seem to see,
Is what it's like to be me,
And be alone, all by myself,
For such a long while.
Yes, you can say that I'm obsessed.
Obsessed with being blessed.
Blessed with a partner in this life.
I can say that I am loved,
Especially from my Savior up above,
And yes, that does ease my days.
What I obsess for, I cannot see,
And that's to feel the right man loving me
In that same special kind of way.
