I don't know what to do.
Waiting,
Waiting,
Waiting for the unknown.
I gave you an opportunity to escape,
But you chose to remove my hand from that doorknob,
And you closed that door behind us..
So now what?
I'm still sitting here in darkness,
Circling around the outskirts of your life,
Wanting,
Wanting!
How do I get you to notice me?
Really notice me,
My caring nature,
My tender affection,
My unique and unadulterated gift of acceptance.
My keen ability to be the sweetest and most loving individual that you've encountered in this world
Of forgotten emotion.
How do I connect with your soul?
Embrace your psyche?
Stimulate your heart?
Engage in a love affair with your inner conscience?
You've got me at a point I've never known before.
I long for a connection that seems to be distant,
Into the night
Out of reach,
Unobtainable.
Yet.you closed that door behind us.
What are your intentions?
Do I continue to circle out here
Alone.
In the atmosphere of your existence,
Wearing on a life vest of support?
I've knocked from every single angle I can find,
Only to let the current drift me further and further away,
Lying limp and lifeless,
Not knowing what to do next.
FEAR?
Hell yesthere's fear.
I've searched for what seems like a lifetime,
For a feeling that enchants my heart,
And captivates the very essence of my soul..
And finally,
It appears in the form of an eccentric,
Yet, eloquent being of pure vanilla extract.
Just a dab into my bowl of delight is all that's needed to create the most scrumptious delicatessen.
If you pour a single drop more, my heart is sure to explode,
Simply from the lack of space to accommodate an expression of this kind of love.
Oh yes..you closed that door behind us.
So now what?
I'm experiencing a gravitational explosion of chaotic non-sense.
I can't control the simplest thought that enters into the cerebral cortex of my brain.
Every thought is consumed with wonder,
Hope,
Longing,
Worry,
Anxiousness,
And yes..fear.
Yet.you closed that door behind us.
What were your intentions behind that action?
So now what?
Now what?
My hands are outstretched,
Trying desperately to reach that knob once more
Only that knob may as well be in Zion..
Because from where I stand I can barely see it
It's like a speck to the eye, that if I blink, I'll lose it for sure.
What does that mean you ask?
Outstretched hands reaching,
Reaching for what I thought was an escape,
But your face is the only clear visual in all this darkness.
I'm reaching to embrace you,
To caress that well groomed goatee.
Those sensuous lips,
That smooth chocolate skin..
Yes.you closed that door behind us,
And I can't reach that knob again.
I can't even visualize the minute speck of it anymore.
But wait
I'm facing the wrong damn direction.
There it is..
So now what?
