Poetry: Hunger

by Peta Ealing Cameron

Created on: February 04, 2009   Last Updated: August 12, 2010

The mother wipes the sweat from her brow

She cradles her child close to her breast

The baby cries along with mothers tears

The dusty surround, close to her make shift tent

The wind blows her mattered hair

She prays the grain supply will drop from the sky

For this is her life; this is hunger
