New York City and Las Vegas. Two cities that are both the same and yet totally different. In New York there is many things to be entertained by: shopping, shows, the possibility of being on TV, and not to mention museums and landmarks. What is there in Las Vegas? Sure there are shows. Plenty of them. However also in Las Vegas there is hotels and casinos. Casinos may be entertaining but will they provide the experience of a lifetime? No, they won't. All they'll provide is a chance for all your hard-work-for money to go down the drain. Entertaining yes, logical no. But so many legendary performers have been in Vegas. This might be the reason you're willing to go there. However, that doesn't mean New York hasn't had it's fair share of legendary performers. After all, it is the place we all turn to when we're ringing in the new year!
Broadway. Upon hearing this you instantly think of all the shows that have played there such as Mary Poppins, West Side Story, Rent, The Lion King, and several others. Las Vegas may provide the chance to see these shows, but it's not the same. It's not Broadway. New York also has The Radio City Music Hall where the Rockettes perform and other musical talents. Think about it: Radio City Music Hall. The Rockettes have been performing since 1933. That's a lot of history there! That's a lot of people who have sung or danced on the stage and who have walked those halls. It's a place many people can recognize. Where are the Rockette's dancing? Where do you think? The Radio City Music Hall.
Among all these once-in-a-lifetime shows is something else that many people might go to New York for. The shopping. In this once city there is a Toys R Us so large that a ferris wheel can fit inside it. Also this is the home to FAO Schwartz, a famous name with all the toy stores out there. When visiting this city you can find that a visit to the toy store is just what your heart desires. Either that, or the hearts of your children. There is also the stores found on Sax Fifth Avenue where you can find expensive attire, but beautiful attire that that. When you watch shows like "What Not To Wear" they head, not to Las Vegas where gamblers go to, but to New York where they know they can get good clothes for a great deal. The "I *heart* NY" tee shirts also originated here and is something that many people buy when they go to New York.
Some national landmarks also make their home in NYC. Need some examples? The Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Ground Zero/the Twin Towers, the Empire State Building, The Museum of Natural History, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and countless others of landmarks that are in New York City. When you see them, automatically you know where they are.
Not only can you find more entertainment on the Broadway strip in NYC, but you can find other entertainment while your visiting the famous city. Las Vegas doesn't stand a chance.
