Songs: Being alone

by Gunter Chang

Created on: February 03, 2009   Last Updated: February 24, 2009

[V1]

Time and I drift on our own.

Days depart and I'm still alone.

Shapeless features pass by my door,

A waveless beach marks my vacant shore.

[v2]

Nights the same as the day before.

Darkness obscures while my dreams ignore,

Silent shadows of memory.

Take this void from inside of me.

[CHORUS]

Everybody's somewhere,

But no one's here at all.

Words from people out there,

Echo in the hall.

No letters posted to me,

No one for me to call.

No one for me to go see,

Or climb over my wall.

[v3]

Hollow laughter, a phantom touch,

Mock the memories I miss so much.

Fingers caressing cool panes of glass,

between my life and the things that pass.

[v4]

Table for two and dinner for one.

No conversation when the day is done.

The dark doorway to a silent phone,

Tells the tale that I'm all alone.

[CHORUS]

Everybody's somewhere,

But no one's here at all.

Words from people out there,

Echo in the hall.

No letters posted to me,

No one for me to call.

No one for me to go see,

Or climb over my wall.

(Repeat)
