The Bell and the Knife: Published by me in an anthology book.
How are you? Me, not so good, I took a walk with death, at a crossroad is where I stood.
It wasn't like heaven, but miles from hell, there was no one there, all I saw was a bell
What did it mean? Why was it there? nothing holding it up, it just floated on air
So I walked up closer, saw flashes of my life, I turned my back upon it, that's when I saw a knife.
A bell on one side, the other side a knife, Is this where I was to determine, what was to become of my life?
I knew the signs well, one good and one bad, I looked at the crossroads, and suddenly felt sad.
I'd been here before, having to make a decision, like driving a car, on a course of collision
Why couldn't there be, a middle road to take, as confused as I was, a decision I had to make.
Nobody's perfect, we mess up all the time, were not a storybook fairytale, were a continuous rhyme
I wasn't suppose to choose, what road to take, but to know good from bad, In the decisions I make
When you know that, you can master your life, Knowing what is the Bell, and what is the Knife.
