Chocolatier - Decadence by Design. Rating 5/5 Impressive!
What a deliciously different game!
It was pleasantly surprising to see the vibrant graphics without overly complex introductions instead jumping straight into the neatly flowing game. The game was good to follow without being too simplex.
The initial help page was an adequate guide to the first levels and more than neatly covered all queries.
The graphics were vibrant, colourful and a delight! Nothing stood out as irritating to the eye, all was comfortable and smooth flowing.
If there was one thing I could pick fault with it could only be the intro movie being a little lengthy, though even that was actually rather good!
The game loaded well, no dramas and in good time. The graphics too are worthy of a five star rating
Dare I say this particular game has the added benefit of being quite educational teaching the players the basics of business in the running of the Chocolate Factory. The player is required to purchase the required ingredients, keep an eye on stocks and produce the final product before selling them at a profit.
Additional ingredients are obtainable as you play through the game giving the opportunity to manufacture varying types of chocolate and coffees.
Chocolatier is one of the best new games I have played for quite some time, so unlike all the bullying activities of many. This game is suitable for all age groups and could be enjoyed by child and adult alike.
Directions are easy to follow and in the first levels it is not hard to get a grasp of the game path. Naturally each stage is a harder and more complex. And you wouldn't expect anything less.
In the first stage you will be making a basic chocolate with just two ingredients, sugar and cacao. After making the chocolates you will sell them and progress to buying more supplies. The next chocolate you produce will be a milk chocolate. Naturally this requires the finding of a supplier and purchasing of he milk ingredient. Again you sell the quantity of milk chocolates before moving on to a new goal.
All through this game negotiations and finding of supplies and the art of selling is paramount, for this reason I feel the game would be most suited to an educational sphere.
It is a game I would definitely consider purchasing for the benefit of my children and to promote their understanding of business concepts.
