Santa Rosa is a city where Mexican food is popular and Mexican restaurants are numerous. It is impossible therefore to review all of the relevant outlets in a piece of work this size, so below are details of what I hope is a representative cross section of Mexican restaurants in the area.

Chelino's Mexican Restaurant, 1079 Fourth Street, Santa Rosa

Chelino's is a restaurant which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It prides itself on having its ingredients delivered fresh every day and thus serving you the highest quality food. Choose from such as Bistec Picado (steak in tomato sauce) or Machaca Con Huevos (minced steak with eggs, green peppers, tomatoes and onions) for breakfast, Shrimp Fajitas or Chicken, Beef or Pork Enchiladas for lunch and perhaps one of the set dinner menus - all of which come with rice, beans, guacamole, a basket of chips and tortillas - such as Chicken, Beef or Pork Tacos Dorados or Chicken or Steak Fajitas. Prices are reasonable and alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are also served.

Chevy's, 24 Fourth Street, Santa Rosa

A branch of the popular chain restaurant, Chevy's is located in a historic and attractive part of Santa Rosa. Outside dining on the patio when the weather is fine is an option and the staff are extremely attentive and friendly. The food is always fresh and although it can be a little bit of a wait for it to be served, this is only a reflection of this restaurant's incredible popularity and regular patronage.

El Azteca Mexican Food, 3260 Airway Drive, Santa Rosa

There are many who say that this restaurant offers the best Mexican food in Santa Rosa, at equally fantastic prices. The portions are massive and their selections of what to eat are wide and varied. Try the varied salsas, the Shredded Chicken Super Jumbo Burrito, or the Chile Verde - their can be very few who leave this delightful establishment hungry!

El Charro Mexican Restaurant, 1529 Farmer's Lane, Santa Rosa

Another incredibly busy restaurant which speaks volumes about its quality and its service. The key to El Charro is to check the daily specials board, just inside the door. This is the invitation to sample the very best of each day's quality cuisine. The food is fantastic, the service incredible and it is all but impossible to find fault with such a quality establishment.

Casa Del Mar Restaurant, 3660 Stony Point Road, Santa Rosa

It may seem strange to profile a restaurant which hasn't open yet but this one is scheduled to open in mid to late February 2009. It is sure to be a subject of great curiosity because it is a both a Mexican restaurant and a nightclub. What better way to combine a late dinner with a few drinks and a social get-together?

I hope that the above has given you some oversight as to the Mexican restaurants looking for your patronage in Santa Rosa. There are a great many more and this is - as is often said - but the tip of the iceberg in a town crammed full of top notch, quality Mexican restaurants.
