EGRET STORM
(V.1) My heart feels heavy like the clouds, filled with deep regret,
Grey and black and all around, not coloured like the egret,
Who stands alone near the pond, all frozen with the chill,
Only he knows of whom I'm fond, and why we're standing still.
Snow is falling on the land, a blanket, thick and white,
And yet here we still stand, under a dark sky lacking of light,
Frozen by the icy wind, the egret watches me,
Is he questioning the sins that fill my heart with glee?
(CHORUS)
Egret storm swirls above,
Colouring my love,
Egret storm stands by the lake,
Freezing me before I wake.
Egret storm please release,
Me from this torrid dream.
(V.2) We never thought we'd see the day, the egret failed to fly,
We thought that we'd be on our way, but here is where we lie.
We wanted so desperately, to fall in love again,
But here is where we long to be, we just don't know when.
Snow continues to cover the ground, smothering our voice,
Broken hearts lie all around, we have no given choice.
We shall stand strong together, binding all who care,
We shall fight the weather, ignoring those that stare.
(CHORUS x 2)
(V.3) The statue-like egret, the frozen pool of glass,
Fills my heart with regret, removing all my sass,
I forget why did I start, walking along this path?
Did I beg for a broken heart, asking for the egret's wrath?
The storm is blowing really hard, killing all the life,
The scenery looks made of card, the air is sharper than a knife.
The egret is fiercely standing, his head is hung down low,
Snow stops birds from landing, but is this just part of the show?
(CHORUS)
(BRIDGE) Egret please release my heart,
I never wanted to play this part.
I'm waiting for the sun to shine,
And melt this frozen life of mine.
(CHORUS x 2)
Torrid dream,
Release me (REPEAT TO FADE)

It's a cold, cold snowy day
In this hell that you've given me
This world where you've imprisoned me -
Wrapped your ivy branches
