Your One and Only
How can you pretend that we have no history?
That my slight animosity is a total mystery
The only person you're lying to is yourself
You aren't fooling anyone else
Don't think because we're starting anew
That everything left unsaid means the past is through
There are things we still must address
There are things that I need to get off my chest
And you should share your feelings too
I want to understand what it was that motivated you
To make the decisions you made
The choices that caused

to feel somewhat betrayed
Please help me to see what is and truly was
So we can move on toward a new cause
One based on love and affection
That can lead us in any direction
Because I'm truly hoping to one day be
Your one and only.

That never really
