The current state of console gaming easily beats PC gaming. With HDMI, surround sound, and other modern technology, consoles are giving PC's a solid kick in the transistors!
Although some people really will gravitate towards certain games, consoles provide more than just a computer experience. Consoles provide better graphics, tighter controls, and dedicated online action. Here are some of the easy examples of games that simply could not be presented better on a PC.
XBOX Live
While there are several other first-person shooter experiences with the PC, the Xbox experience cannot be matched. Experience firefights, quick death matches, team shoot-em-ups, and duels without having to worry about harddrive space, drivers, compatibility, and many other issues.
The online smoothness of XBOX Live is dedicated to one thing: gaming. The bandwidth used on game servers is specifically used for games and gaming experience. While PC games offer a good experience, with consoles, you only have to worry about minimal set-up. There's less time spent configuring, and more time spent gaming.
Specialty Games
There are many games that simply will never be released on PC. These games cannot be missed, especially if you are a hardcore gamer. Here are a few examples of games that would never be released on PC.
Metal Gear Solid
I am a big fan of the Metal Gear Series, and I bought a Playstation 3 simply to play this game. I love the graphics, the characters, the cinema, and I enjoy immersing myself in the experience of the game. It's tongue-in-cheek, and it's meant to be played on a console.
Final Fantasy XIII
The other reason I purchased a Playstation 3 was to play the new Final Fantasy. The Final Fantasy series rarely disappoints; I think the worlds that Square creates, the characters, and the gameplay, are not found anywhere else. If you have ever been a fan of these games, you know that a large part of the experience is the music. I would not want to play this game on a PC, and I doubt that Square will take the time to develope it for port to the home-computer market.
Grand Theft Auto
The Grand Theft Auto series is another game that I love playing on console. I realize that this game has been released for the PC, but part of the experience of GTA is sitting around with friends on the couch and enjoying the experience. Crack a few cold ones, sit back and relax. Pass the controller to a friend rather than sitting next to a 17-inch monitor.
The Nintendo Wii
The Nintendo Wii provides an un-matched
