Poetry: My pain

PAIN

I was the mountain you could not climb,

I was the poem you could not rhyme.

I was the sea you could not sail,

I was the letter you could not mail.

You were a dream, remaining unreal,

but it will not change the way I feel-

I was the game you could not play,

I was the one that got away.

I was the wind that you shut out,

Mine was the name you could not shout.

You were the sunshine in the rain,

You are the cause of all this pain-

I was the life you could not have,

I was the life you could not have.
