America has boundless destinations to explore. Here are five fabulous "can't miss" treks for a United States travelogue filled with life time experiences and fun for all ages:

Washington D.C. History & Heritage

Every citizen should know their heritage. There remains no better place to find our collective roots than in a trip to the Capital. Not only does a visit to Washington, D.C. provide history, it also affords the finest in Arts and Science- free. Conquer as many Smithsonian Museums as you dare. Gaze up the Lincoln Memorial . Cast a wondering eye around the Mall. Let the tears fall, (but silently) at the Changing of the Guards. Reflect at the Vietnam War Memorial. Try to catch a glimpse of a certain famous First Family. Rejoice in freedom.

Disneyland- Magic and the Mouse

Today especially, even parents need a dose of magic. Disneyland provides this enchantment daily. From the first sight of the Magic Castle and Main Street, USA to the breathtaking, nightly fireworks- the smiles and wonder abound. Each Disney Park has its own particular brand of style, transporting us via Walt's famous fairy dust technology to foreign lands, the future or primitive times. Even the most cynical teenager warms when hugged by Mickey. This is truly magic you shouldn't miss.

Wild West-Saddle up and Ride the Range

Whether you choose scaling the majestic Colorado Rockies, a scenic drive in South Dakota on Needles Highway to spy wild bison, or a trail in the breathtaking Grand Canyon, you will find your inner Lewis and Clark on any trek to the Wild West. Everyone who truly wants to experience Americana needs to feel awestruck by natural, rugged beauty, at least once in their lives. The harrowing drive up Pikes Peak 14,110 feet of hairpin turns alone makes any trip out west worthwhile. Rustle up a chuckwagon dinner, go kayaking , wander the trails, whitewater raft in a canyon or two, and you will discover why Katharine Lee Bates penned long ago about those, "Purple mountains majesty."

Californian Coastline- Steinbeck, Stars and Surfing

There's something about West Coast California inviting and inspiring all of us. This is why a star laden sidewalk can make you strut like a celebrity. Toss back a beer on Seal Beach and marvel at the surfers or join in. (Why not? It is California). Drive Big Sur with the top down and surrender to the urge to hum a few Beach Boys tunes. View Monterey from Steinbeck's vantage point and your own. From the pounding surf to the pulsating nightlife, California Coastline will not fail to deliver on being the Golden State, a place where you can have fun in the sun.

New York- Broadway and Big Apples

The City that never sleeps, is worthy of being the biggest and the brightest apple around. Take in a Broadway show, and sing in the streets. View the skyline from the harbor, or venture to the Statue of Liberty to see the Lady. Food and famous art make this a satisfying sensory overload. New York, New York, it's up to you to experience it.
