Depression comes in four forms. Theres Mild depression, Major depression, clinical depression and Manic depression. Depression has been diagnosed in people children through adults by a licensed psychiatrist. The licensed psychiatrist will evaluate the child or adult and come up with the diagnosis after doing some tests. After the psychiatrist came up with the diagnosis, he or she will prescribe the child or adult medication depending on the form of depression they have. If you go to this website
www.mayoclinic.com look up depression it will give you all the information you need to know. There is another good web site www.drugs.com for information on the different types of depression medication. you should find those two websites very useful.
When the child or adult is diagnosed and prescribed medication they also have to be seen by a counselor. The counselor will help the person by working with him or her through their problems. The counselor will schedule appointments depending on the need of help. Next the person must follow up on every appointment as given or the chance of mentally healing will be delayed. When following up with the counseling the person will also follow up with the psychiatrist to see how the person is doing on the medication he or she is prescribed. If the medication the person is prescribed doesn't work, the licensed psychiatrist will upgrade their medication or prescribe new medication. The person should stick to the medication and take the amount that is prescribed on the bottle. when taking the medication, the person might get some side effects for example the most common side effects in most depression pills are; dry mouth, loss of appitite, and nausea. If the person experience these or other side effects fore more than one week, then he or she should call the licensed psychiatrist to change medication.
The person should stick to daily house routines because, with depression, daily chores get really hard to deal with. Doing daily chores should boost the persons self esteem. The person should also socialize with other people to keep them busy with activities. Doing these options will be very easy with the medication the person is prescribed. The child in school will find it easier focusing on school and homework and the adult will find it easier working at their job. Chores everyday including getting enough sleep at night should reduce stress that brings on depression. Depression is uncurrable so just follow up with the counselor and psychiatrist to mentally heal.
