If I could, I would find a cure for all life's ills.
To reach inside a child and strangle cancer out.
Children too small to understand all the complexities
that most adults can not fathom themselves.
If I could, I would drown all crime
and make it a past action not present.
Changing meanness to positive actions
to over take the sickness with a cheerful recourse.
If I could, I would feed the children of the world
so bellies would not cause them to cry from the hurt
or see the look of distance in their mother's eyes.
To give them all a drink of water purest ever,
cool, and quenching against the heat of day
to offer comfort and ward off diseases.
If I could I would be a scientist, to find a way to
disarm all bombs, and harmful tools of destruction, I would!
If I could I would write a peace treaty and take it to each
head of state and plead with them to sign it, and to
assure them it would not be a mistake,.....but a promise!
If I could, I comfort a person so lost, offer support
a prayer, a story, or perhaps most important my time!
If I could, I would ask the world to get along most
to cast out evil and show new generations the love of trust.
To assure small children that being safe is a wonderful notion,
once again and not just for we in America, but throughout all lands!
To use efforts to support each other in places of breaking our brothers down.
So if I could, I'd pass the word that being kind and thoughtful is not
just something we share as human beings, but for our globe
our Motherland, that we have been given from above
from a Creator much larger than a big bang,
but perhaps they both are entwined!
I would, if I could, I will begin with you
and unknown spirit that feels the same, and perhaps
this little poem will catch on, and we all will improve not just us
but the climate control, world peace, and things on a grander scheme.
So I did, I shared my thoughts and that's that,
and now it's up to you, begin by being selfless
for if we all decide to allow others to ruin it for all of man
then what is the point of manners, education or prayer or even power?
So, I can only do, what I did do, and this is place a few words
before the lot of you, and ask for some plausible consideration of a few.
If I could, I would make all children laugh and full of cookies and milk,
placed in their mommy's arms and seen in daddy's promises and his eyes!
But since I can't all by myself, I am asking all of you to help,
won't all of you reach out to someone and try some goodness out?
This is what I would do, now I have one for you.
What would you do if the same question were to present itself again?

If I Could
Somewhere on a different road,
through a chance passing of fate,
a summer flash came to me,
but on silver wings
If I could fly high up in the sky
I think of things I'd like to try
To make a rain from high above
That showered down joy and

If I could, I would, I surely would try
Into this life I delve, before I must die
Not knowing that I can, I understand

If I could, little one,
I would enfold you with sunshine
If I could
I would create joy in a cup
and fill you up
every morning

If I could, I would make the world easier for you.
I would harness its violence and tame its hatred.
I would ask the face
