that the world is round and revolves was first proposed for the historical record by Pythagoras and Heraclides respectively, with the latter proposing that Mercury and Venus revolve in a circle around the sun. Aristarchus was the first Greek astronomer to make the Copernican theory of heliocentricism. Copernicus was happy to discover the opinion of Aristarchus in his own day (see Russell's 'A History of Western Philosophy pages 214-215). How would we define Aristarchus?
What about a theory about God and what he is such as would fit into a language definition-is that even a good idea? Let's say we should try. It might be best to get this material from the Christian Bible-because I am a Christian and there is much written in it about God, from whence we might form an opinion about who God is-for he definitely seems to be a Who.
Can we be certain of anything ourselves as confidently as Descartes was confident that he existed? Philosophers differ about the nature of reality and of what it really is to be a human being; with an opinion about the other who is God being an opinion made between ourselves and this Creator of Everything its a subjective-objective opinion, or one that has a personal word and its object of reference-yet God isn't an object.
I recently formed an opinion about human experience derived from Augustine's opinion about time as being a subject, Kantian style interpretation of a human mind. If dimensions are coordinate relations of mass and energy in unit protocols and people experience them in such a way because of how their minds are constructed, its a way to apprehend the concept that time and space could be set out in a fixed, yet absolute way with everything that will ever materially exist already placed within the arrangements of God. Human minds or spirits attached to mind experience may just be Shepherded through the aspects of the Universe God intends for them to experience. Space-time can seem like it moves though it is motionless and general relativity criteria subjectively apply-sort of, to make it seem like it is instead time that is passing, space that is expanding and so forth. The forgetfulness of memory seems like a correlated phenomena of the passage of a spirit through precincts or realms of ideal appearances of God that are actually not in motion.
Spirit associated with a traverse through an infinitely developed realm of God is an aspect of God's absolutely infinite actualization of everything-yet of course
