Gone are the days of the old Yoruba uncivilized world when parents are to find a befitting wife for their son and a befitting husband for their daughter respectively, most espectially in the part of the world where I came from, Yoruba land nigeria, West Africa. The africans respect their culture very well, they so much believe in thier morals, values, cultures as well as deciplines. Thank God for civilizations and education, in fact that is on of the areas the British who came to colonize us really inproved. Now children who are matured enough to marry choose for them selves whom they probably wanted to marry without the influence of thier dearly parent nor any members of thier communities, including the elders in the society. They make relationship with who ever they felt is the best that suit them and who they agreed to live with, for the rest of thier life.Love is another thing that is very in among the two parties,as it is well known that you dont get in love with whom you dont love, this is a very clear fact.

As soon as the children have known, found, agreed and ready to marry each other, what next is to meet thier parents of both the man and woman to introduce themselves, where the two parent and family members of the both parties come to know each other very well. The Yorubas care so much about the daughter or son of whom their children wanted to marry, this is a very important area which the yorubas never joke with, since you can't just enter the street to pick up thier children for marriage, it must follow a very special steps by step method.

Another fact here is that one of the purpose of marriage is to have children, which is the ultimate reason for marriage, hence marriage was essential not only for companionship, but for seed, this is on of the will of God for us as he said go and be fruitful. It is not good for a man or woman to be alone. For Adam it was Eve God gave to him, this fact is supported by every religion in the world today, every body, ethnic group as well as in the yoruba set up in Nigeria. The yorubas valued childrem very much,to every new born baby in a family it is a joy to the entire community.

Marriage is a thing that is celebrated very much in yoruba land of Nigeria, this is not longer a news in the whole world today, people spend much money in marriage ceremonies, in fact this as becomes part of our culture, we valued marriage very well especially in our society. It is the parents joy that thier children are going for marriage
