How to Convert to Hinduism.

The hallmark and most salient feature of real and genuine Hinduism is one of UniversalTolerance.

The basic principles that led to this attitude of tolerance were Truth and Non Violence.

It is that very toleration that permitted so many other different religions to come and flourish in many areas along side the oldest religion of the world.

Hinduism also allows for absolute freedom of the Individual to maintain his/her personal dignity and choices in matters of prayer and worship. There are no dogmas, no specifications as to when you have to pray etc.You pray if you feel like it. Only if you are absolutely convinced that prayer will help you. There is nothing that is compulsory or laid out absolutely essential to perform and/or carry out.

The whole religion has evolved based on the individual's absolute freedom to question and discuss every concept and every form of belief.If only is one is totally convinced, you need to believe what is tentatively laid out to be followed if you want to achieve real Liberation.

The Vedas and Upanishads are the most ancient authoritative scriptures. These were
generated based on intense and truthful personal and prolonged experience of many Seers and Sages of the very ancient past and who used the techniques of Meditation and Yoga to gain knowledge about the Absolute Truth.

Truth in Hinduism means The Only One Truth that exists.It is what they call Truth-
Existence.Bliss.( Satchidananda= Sat+Chit+Ananda)

English offers rather insufficient translations to the original Sanskrit text.

The depth of meaning and the philosophical Vision that has been expostulated in
Hinduism's original Sanskrit Texts are quite difficult to be translated in all its concepts and multi dimensional levels of meaning.

Due to these facts Hinduism is a religion that is NOT organized to specific patterns of behaviors and dogmas.

However if one wants to convert to Hinduism there are organizations such as the Arya Samaj,The Sankaracharya Maths or Abodes where any one interested can approach.

There are a few rituals performed symbolically to absolve you of the sins of the past.
No confessions etc are involved. No money is involved.

Basic attempt will be only to convince you that there is Only One Absolute Truth in the Universe and whatever else you see or don't see, perceive or don't perceive, recognize or don't recognize are all different manifestations of that one Truth.

Just like water can exist as well water or lake water or sea water or river water or ice or snow or water vapor or clouds, that one single and Absolute Truth alone really exists.

We do not realize that Truth because we are covered with Ignorance.

The call of the Hinduism to the human being is therefore to absolve oneself from
that Ignorance and Realize the One and Only Truth in all its manifestations and the
potential divinity that exists in every living and non living being or object.
