During the first three weeks of 2007, I have had 19 different pieces published on Associated Content. Seven were poems and one was a short story, which weren't paid submissions. One was a news item, which normally aren't purchased, but for a limited time, they're offering a minimum payment of $5 (and "much more" if you're the first person to break the story)-to be paid at the end of January.
I've sold AC ten different articles, for a total of $60 so far, with individual payments ranging from $4-$8 apiece-but I have sold them non-exclusive rights, so I can resell or re-post my work elsewhere anytime. I have actually had payment delivered to my PayPal account the same day the articles were purchased, though it generally takes a few days to be paid after you've accepted an offer from them. They're fairly quick about reviewing your work and making offers on it (or accepting non-paid pieces), as well.
Recently, when I'd submitted an article to Constant-Content, it took them quite some time to respond-and when they did, it was only to tell me that they'd rejected-and deleted-my content because I had placed a live link in my source list at the end of my article (put there only so that the reader could check on a quote I'd included in the piece.)
After e-mailing them about this, I received a somewhat impersonal and generic response, which didn't answer a specific question I'd asked about resubmitting the article. On returning to their (new) website, I attempted to resubmit and the site wouldn't accept my article, causing it to disappear in cyberspace! So I finally gave up (after composing and typing in my short article summary twice, because I'd lost it the first time the site hadn't accepted my submission.) But I suspect this has something to do with the fact that they want work submitted in plain text and I had copied and pasted it from MS-Word.
It just seems too much trouble to me to deal with submitting to Constant-Content-at least at this point, so I'm sticking with Associated Content (and any other good sites I may yet discover.)
