Poetry: Grief

by Mortimer

Created on: January 30, 2009

Grief twists inside me,
Blown by your breeze
As you rush by me-
A grief so sharp
It splinters words
As they are forming
Before they can be written
Before they can be spoken.
And I am smitten-
Broken-
And I can't be repaired.
There is nowhere
To lay the blame.
You don't care
And I cannot remain
Outside the curve
Of your heart.
The death chill of winter
Snuffs the last flaming spark.
