Fire and Ice
My world seemed like one of ice
Where I was all alone.
No one there to be nice;
No place to call my home.
All by myself in this frozen place
With nowhere else to go.
Despite all my haste,
I'm stuck alone in this hole.
I can only think of the cold
As I lie alone in the ice and snow.
I shiver, but won't be so bold
As to ask Goddess to take me home.
Then you burst into my life
And bring with you the fire
So my world doesn't seem se rife
With ice and frozen spires.
At first, I was ecstatic
To have your light warm my heart.
Your flames danced, so erratic,
Around it's broken parts.
But now it hurts next to the warm,
And you're buring your own holes.
I can't tell if there's more good or harm,
And I almost miss the cold.
Almost...
But the pain of your flames licking my sore wounds
Is nothing compared to the freezing dark.
To lose you would do more than bruise;
I'd just fall apart.
WIthout you, I'm nothing,
Just a cold, lonely shell.
WIll it end? Is it just a fling?
No. I'd rather go to hell.
I can't go back to my world of ice
Now that I've found your flame.
Even though you cause me strife,
I love you just the same.
